SCEA success!
After long and arduous preparation I successfully passed the exam for the Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition. It is step one of three. Part two is a (up to) 100+ hour project where you are presented with a business problem to solve with a J2EE design, including all architectural UML diagrams. Part three is a 4 question essay exam which just proves that you did your own work for part two.

Happy Birthday Java!
Believe it or not, Java turned 10 on May 17th.

I remember when it was mainly just the promise of something better and didn't really work all that well or very fast. The bad old days of applets and awt. But even then it was a great idea. Now I think it's fulfilling the promise and will only get better.
